Hackettstown, NJ – The Centenary Women's soccer team closed out their regular season with a 4-0 win over Rosemont College and clinching the #2 seed in the CSAC playoffs with a first round bye.
The first half remained scoreless even with a 7-2 shot advantage for the Cyclones, until the 30
th minute where
Lorraine Dedrick fired a shot from 25 yards out that struck the post and
Samantha Sysak was able to send the rebound into the net for a 1-0 lead.
In the final 45 minutes of play,
Becky D'Angelo put the Cyclones up two in the 55
th minute when she netted a goal off a cross feed from
Laura Potter.
Centenary would tack on two more goals within a nine minute span as
Becky Camp sent a shot into the upper left corner on a breakaway and
Emily Pizzuto who scored on a long shot from 30 yards out off a free kick.
Cyclone goalie,
Megan Williams made five stops on the day, while earning her fifth shutout of the season. Raven keeper, Jenna Kaiser also tallied five saves in the loss.
With the win, the Cyclones improve to 10-7-1 overall and 9-2 in the league, while Rosemont drops to 9-6-3 and 6-4-1 in the CSAC.
Prior to the start of the game, eight seniors were honored for their accomplishments and dedication to the Cyclone Program.

Laura Potter are ready to lead the team into the next phase as they prepare to host a semi-final playoff match.
A career ending injury has kept Gillis sidelined for her senior year; however Gillis was able to start her first and final game today and join her fellow seniors on the field for one play, before making an exit that garnered a round of applause from her teammates and the crowd. A very special thank you goes out to Rosemont College for allowing Centenary this moment.
Centenary will be back in action November 5
th for the CSAC Playoffs as the #2 seed and hosting a semi-final match on the J.E Reeves Turf field in Hackettstown, NJ. Time is TBA.
