Men's Soccer Nipped by Gwynedd Mercy

Hackettstown, NJ – Gwynedd Mercy University used an early goal and a late penalty goal to push past the Centenary men's soccer team by the final of 2-0 in today's Colonial States Athletic Conference match this afternoon.

The loss drops Centenary to (9-5-1, 4-3 CSAC) and the win gives Gwynedd a 6-10 overall mark and 4-3 in the CSAC.

Griffin's Neil Brassel converted what would be the game-winner in the 24th minute as he netted a goal off a corner kick by Chris Black for the 1-0 advantage.

The score would remain that way until the 89th minute as a Centenary foul awarded Gwynedd's Ryan Roedel a PK opportunity.  With a liner to the right, the Griffins added an insurance goal to secure the 2-0 win over Centenary.

Centenary's Jesse Goleman (Pittsburgh, PA / Taylor Allderdice) made six stops as well as Gwynedd's Matt Chilcote.

Centenary honors their seniors for their next home match on Saturday October 25th against Moravian College at 3:00pm
