Hackettstown, NJ – Centenary College women's soccer team defeated conference opponent Cedar Crest College today, 7-0. The Cyclones improved to 4-5-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 in the CSAC, while the Falcons now stand at 2-8-1, 0-2.
Centenary jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 17
th minute as senior forward
Samantha Sysak (Bayonne, NJ / Holy Family Academy) knocked in a cross feed from
Lorraine Dedrick (Trumbull, Conn. / Trumbull). Midway through the second half Dedrick would connect with her own goal from 25 yards out on a long shot for her third goal of the season.Â
With 6:45 left to play in the first half, a Sysak score off a pass from
Becky Camp (Belford, NJ / Middletown North) increased the Cyclones' advantage to 3-0.
Sysak would end the day with six points as she picked up two assists as well. Centenary controlled the first half tallying 13 shots and allowing zero.Â
In the second half, Centenary would not let up adding two more goals in a seven minute span from
Jessica Benoit (Hazlet, NJ / Raritan) and
Becky Camp. Late in the half,
Laura Potter (Gilboa, NY / Gilboa-Conesville) and
Jaclyn LaGuardia (Wyckoff, NJ / Ramapo) would end the scoring with a pair of goals for a final score of 7-0.Â

Megan Williams (Glenside, PA / Abington) tallied two saves in the victory in just under 80 minutes of action and picks up her third shutout of the season.Â

With only CSAC matches left on the schedule, the Cyclones hit the road with back-to-back away games at Neumann University (October 4 @ 4:00pm) and Cabrini College (October 7 @ 6:30pm).
