Alex Idrovo begins his first season as the Head Men's Soccer Coach at Centenary University, bringing a diverse background of elite playing experience, professional training, and youth player development to the Cyclones program.
Idrovo arrives at Centenary after spending the past two years coaching at Cedar Stars Academy Monmouth, where he worked with aspiring collegiate and professional players while helping foster technical development, tactical understanding, and a competitive mindset. His coaching philosophy emphasizes developing student-athletes both on and off the field by building a culture centered on hard work, discipline, accountability, and excellence.

As a player, Idrovo's career spans elite youth academies, multiple NCAA institutions, and professional training environments. He developed his game at Gotschee Academy, one of the nation's premier youth soccer academies, before continuing his academy career with Cedar Stars Academy. He went on to compete collegiately at Bloomfield College (NCAA Division II), Kean University (NCAA Division III), and Drew University (NCAA Division III), gaining valuable experience across multiple collegiate conferences while developing as both a player and leader.
In addition to his collegiate playing career, Idrovo trained with Club Sport Boys, one of Peru's historic First Division professional clubs, where he experienced a professional environment focused on technical excellence, tactical discipline, and a winning culture. He also trained with Greenville Triumph SC of USL League One, further enhancing his understanding of the standards and professionalism required at the highest levels of the game.
His experiences competing and training across elite academies, collegiate programs, and professional environments have shaped his holistic approach to coaching and player development. Idrovo is committed to helping student-athletes maximize their potential on the field while preparing them for success in the classroom and beyond.
