Centenary Athletics End of Year Ceremony 2024-2025

​On Sunday, April 27, 2025, Centenary University celebrated its annual Athletics Awards Ceremony, honoring the dedication, resilience, and excellence of its student-athletes. The event, held on campus, recognized standout performances across various sports, highlighting achievements in service, comeback, and overall athletic excellence.

Team Spirit Award

The Centenary Spirit Award was presented to the team that consistently demonstrated the most enthusiasm, pride, and support for fellow athletes throughout the year. This year's honorees stood out for their energetic presence at campus sporting events, unwavering encouragement of their peers, and ability to foster a vibrant, positive atmosphere within the Centenary community. Their commitment to school spirit truly embodied what it means to be a Cyclone. The back to back winners are:

Jean Murphy Service Award

The evening commenced with the presentation of the Jean Murphy Service Award, named in honor of the university's First Lady Jeanne Murphy. This award acknowledges a student who has demonstrated a commitment to creating positive change for the campus, the Centenary community, and beyond. This year's recipient exemplified these values through consistent service and leadership.​ The recipients of the 2024-2025 Jean Murphy Service Award include:

Comeback Player of the Year

The Comeback Player of the Year award was presented to a male and female athlete who overcame adversity to return to peak performance. Their journey of resilience and determination served as an inspiration to teammates and the broader Centenary community.​ The award winners for the Centenary Comeback Player of the Year are: 

Rookie of the Year

Recognizing the impact of first-year athletes, the Rookie of the Year awards were given to standout male and female athletes who made significant contributions in their inaugural seasons. These individuals showcased exceptional talent and promise, setting a high standard for future Cyclones.​ The Centenary Rookie of the Year are: 

Cardy Gemma Award

The Cardy Gemma Award, named after Centenary's first athletic director, honors seniors who have demonstrated excellence in athletics, academics, and community involvement. This year's recipients were celebrated for their leadership, dedication, and achievements both on and off the field.​ This years winners are: 

Player of the Year

The evening concluded with the Player of the Year awards, recognizing the top male and female athletes for their outstanding performances during the season. These athletes led by example, contributing significantly to their teams' successes and embodying the spirit of Centenary athletics.​ The 2024-2025 male and female, Centenary Player of the year goes to: 

The ceremony not only celebrated individual achievements but also underscored the collective spirit and commitment of Centenary University's athletic community.
