Second Half Goals Allow King's To Slip By Men's Soccer

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – A pair of second half goals lifted King's College (Pa.) to a 2-0 win over the Centenary University men's soccer team on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams had their chances in the first 45 minutes of this one. Kevin Lopez had a shot that was saved by the King's keeper. Andrew Tarkazikis stopped the one shot that the Monarchs got on goal.

The Cyclones and Monarchs had their chances early in the second half but both keepers continued to play well and kept the opposition off the scoreboard.

King's finally broke through for a goal at 76:48. Evan Egnatovich played a low ball across the box that Jordan Madise was able to collect and knock home.

The Monarchs added to their lead in the 86th minute as Aziz Atiyeh scored.

The proved to be all the offense in the game as King's claimed the 2-0 victory.

Jake Forst made two saves to earn the win in goal for King's. Tarkazikis made four saves in the loss for the Cyclones.

Centenary is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 14 when it makes its 2022 home debut. The Cyclones will host local rival, FDU Florham at 3 p.m.
