ARLINGTON, Va. – No. 1 Marymount University scored with less than 10 minutes to play and that proved to be the difference maker as the Saints claimed a 1-0 victory over the No. 5 Centenary University men's soccer team in the Atlantic East Semifinals on Tuesday night.
Brandon Parra started in goal for the Cyclones and made three saves in the first 15 minutes of the game to keep the Saints off the board.
Matt Paterno got off a shot in the 29th minute but it went wide right.
The two teams went into the half tied 0-0.
The Cyclones and Saints continued to battle as the second half began.
Julian Lippner fired off a shot in the 70th minute but could not find paydirt.
Marymount finally broke through at 83:23 as
Matthew Correa scored for the home team.
Centenary continued to push but was unable to get the equalizer as Marymount claimed the 1-0 victory.
Bayron Banegas did not need to make a save in the win for the Saints. Parra finished with the three saves for the Cyclones.
