Men's Soccer Tripped Up By Muhlenberg

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Goalkeeper Paul LiTrenta made eight saves as the Centenary University men's soccer team fell to Muhlenberg College on Tuesday afternoon.

The Mules jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the half and eventually settled for a 5-0 win.

Chris Richards had a goal and an assist in the first half to lead the early efforts for the visitors. LiTrenta made four first half saves for the Cyclones.

Muhlenberg tacked on two more goals in the second half, the tallies came from Phillip Bell and Luke Feeney.

Centenary's best chance came in the 62nd minute as the home team was awarded a penalty kick. Unfortunately for the home team, Muhlenberg's Branden Duffy was able to turn away the shot from midfielder Besnik Hadzovic.

LiTrenta made four more saves in the second half but Muhlenberg claimed the 5-0 win.

Duffy made the one save to earn the win in goal for Muhlenberg. LiTrenta finished with the eight saves for the Cyclones.

Centenary is back in action on Thursday, Sept. 9 when they host William Paterson at 4 p.m.
