HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Freshman
JT Doyle made 10 saves, including several on close shots to lead the Centenary University men's lacrosse team against Farmingdale State College in the Cyclones' home opener on Wednesday night.
Farmingdale State scored the first eight goals of the game and eventually took a 14-1 lead at the half. The Rams added eight second half goals for the 22-2 win.
Blake Behlen scored five first half goals to lead the Rams.
Junior
Timothy Kaiser III got the Cyclones on the board with his fourth goal of the season at 1:03 of the first quarter.
Joe Watson and
Casey Romano had a goal and an assist in the second half to lead the Rams.
Kaiser III struck for his second goal of the day and fifth of the season in the third quarter.
Kevin Loonie started the game in goal for the Rams and made two saves in the first quarter to earn the win. Doyle had his second straight game with double digit saves for the Cyclones.
Behlen finished with five goals and three assists for the Rams.
In addition to Kaiser III's two goals, the Cyclones got nine faceoff wins and nine ground balls from freshman
Andrew Marchese.
The Cyclones are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 29 when they travel to Moravian for a 1 p.m. game.
