MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Junior
Justine Stefura went 4-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Centenary University softball team to its first win of the season at the Fast Pitch Spring Dreams Classic on Monday afternoon.
Centenary fell to Greenville, 8-0 in its first game of the day but bounced back to defeat SUNY Poly, 7-1 in game two.

Greenville took an early lead with a run in the bottom of the first on
Deirda Holzhauer's RBI double.
The Panthers tacked on four runs in the bottom of the third inning and increased its lead to 5-0. Holzhauer had a sacrifice fly in the inning while
Beth Mersinger added an RBI double.
Greenville scored three more runs in the bottom of the fourth and claimed the 8-0 victory. Holzhauer recorded her third RBI of the game with a single while Mersinger drove in a run as well.
Caitie Opp earned the win in the circle for Greenville as she gave up three hits in four innings of work. Junior
Jessica Hewitt took the loss after giving up seven runs in three inning of action.
Holzhauer led Greenville with two hits and three RBIs.
Sophomore
Meghan Hughes had two hits for the Cyclones.
SUNY Poly Recap
The Cyclones got to work early with three runs in the first inning against SUNY Poly. Stefura had an RBI single that plated sophomore
Tessa Ferentinos and later came around to score on a wild pitch. Sophomore
Courtney Deloughery also drove in a run in the inning.
SUNY Poly got one of those runs back in the third inning as
Melissa Barber had an RBI single to center field.
Centenary turned in another big inning in the bottom of the sixth. The Cyclones sent nine runners to the plate and scored four runs for a 7-1 advantage. Ferentinos drove in a run with an RBI groundout before Stefura drove in a pair with a double to center field. Stefura then scored her second run of the game on a wild pitch.
Hewitt picked up her first win of the season with a complete game effort. She allowed just one run on three hits while striking out five in seven innings.
Ashleigh Johnson took the loss for SUNY Poly after giving up three runs on four hits in three innings.
Stefura's four hits matched her career-high as she had three RBIs and two runs scored for the Cyclones. Hughes and Ferentinos each had two hits for Centenary.
The Cyclones are back in action on Tuesday, March 11 as they take on Dean and Iowa Wesleyan in Myrtle Beach.
