HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary University men's basketball team scored 27 of the first 31 points in the game and held off a late charge for a 92-82 win over Bryn Athyn College on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
With the win, the Cyclones clinched a spot in the upcoming CSAC Tournament. The Cyclones will be making their first appearance since the 2016-17 and fourth appearance in the last five years.

Those triples were part of a 27-4 run by the Cyclones to start the game. That run opened with an Anderson triple and was capped by an lay-up from the freshman at 14:17.
Anderson scored seven during that stretch while Weiler knocked down three shots from behind the arc.
A three-pointer from sophomore
Michael Young at 11:58 extended the Centenary advantage to 30-6.
Freshman
Billy Veras knocked down a jumper at 8:09 as the Cyclones took a 35-13 lead.
Bryn Athyn scored six of the next nine points and made it a 38-19 game with four minutes to go in the half.
A three-pointer from sophomore
Chris LaBelle at 1:54 put the home team on top 43-24.
The two teams traded points down the stretch as Centenary took a 47-31 lead at the half.
The Cyclones scored nine of the first 11 points in the second half as Centenary led 56-33 with 17:35 to go in the game. Anderson had a pair of baskets during that stretch.
The two teams continued to battle as a lay-up from LaBelle at 14:19 extended the Cyclone advantage to 64-42.
A pair of free throws from freshman
Tyler White at 8:36 gave Centenary a 77-51 lead. It was the largest advantage of the day for the home team.
The two teams continued to trade baskets as a Veras lay-up at 6:27 put the home team on top, 81-58.
Bryn Athyn scored 12 of the next 18 points and cut the Centenary lead to 17, 87-70 with 3:21 showing on the clock.
Saleem Chisholm had five points during that stretch.
A lay-up from senior
Stewart Lester gave Centenary a 91-74 lead with 1:32 showing on the clock.
Bryn Athyn scored eight of the final nine points in the game but Centenary claimed the 92-82 victory.
Centenary shot a season-best 54.5 percent from the field in the game and made eight three-pointers. Bryn Athyn finished the game shooting 42.3 percent from the field and made 11 three-pointers. The Cyclones held a 47-34 advantage in the rebounding battle.
LaBelle led the Cyclones with 20 points, four assists, four steals and five rebounds. It was the sophomore's third straight game scoring 20 or more points and 10th game this season with 20 or more points.
Anderson and Veras each recorded a double-double for the Cyclones. Anderson had 18 points and a season-high 10 rebounds while Veras finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Weiler was the fourth Cyclone in a double-figures as he finished with 14 points.
Larry Stevenson III had a game-high 25 points for Bryn Athyn.
Centenary is back in action when it travels to Rosemont on Wednesday, Feb. 13 for an 8 p.m. game.
