RADNOR, Pa. – Freshman
Wayne Safreed made a career-high 17 saves for the Centenary University men's lacrosse team at No. 8 Cabrini University in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Saturday.
The Cavaliers jumped out to a 12-0 halftime advantage and claimed a 21-0 victory.
Kevin Leyden had a pair of first quarter goals for Cabrini while
Matt LoParo had a pair of goals and a pair of assists by the half.
LoParo added another goal in the second half as the Cavaliers scored a combined nine goals in the third and fourth quarters.
Riley White earned the win in goal for Cabrini as he made one save in the first half. Three other Cavaliers saw time in goal in the second half including
Matt Nestler who made two saves in the third quarter.
For Safreed, it was the sixth time this season he has recorded double digit saves and it put him over 100 saves for the season.
LoParo led Cabrini with three goals and three assists for six points while
Tommy DeLuca had five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Chris Howell had eight face off wins and four ground balls for the Cyclones while seniors
Nick Fox and
Kyle Purcell each had four ground balls.
The Cyclones are back in action on Wednesday, April 18 when they host Kean at 4 p.m.
