HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Oct. 7, 2017)- Junior
Devon Warne (Belvidere, N.J. / Belvidere) made a season-high 10 saves as the Centenary University men's soccer team was shutout by Cabrini University, 5-0 on Saturday afternoon.
John Griffin posted two goals, while Andre Justin tallied two assists for the Cavaliers who improve to 4-7-1 overall and remain unbeaten at 4-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Senior
Justin White (Minehill, N.J. / Dover) took four shots for the Cyclones who fall to 4-5-1 overall and 3-1 in the CSAC.
The first half was basically even, with both teams recording six shots apiece. The Cavs were able to gain the upper hand, when they notched a goal on a double header in the 31
st minute. Cabrini held a 1-0 lead at halftime.
The second half remained scoreless until the 66
th minute, when the Cavaliers scored four unanswered goals, including three in a span of six minutes. Centenary was only able to get off three shots in the second stanza, compared to 12 for Cabrini.
Junior
Josh Weiss (Hackettstown, N.J. / Hackettstown) took three shots, while freshman
Daisuke Suzuki (Yokohama, Japan / Toin Gakuen) and senior
Richy Castro (Succcasunna, N.J. / Roxbury)
each recorded one. Matt Ochman took a team-high three shots, while Ben Roda, Jared Irwin, Griffin and Kostas Silkas all tallied two shots for Cabrini
