ALLAMUCHY, N.J. (Apr. 6, 2016)- Freshman
Casey Brown (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area) went 2-for-5 with two RBI's as the Centenary College baseball team dropped a non-conference contest to New Jersey City University, 9-7.
Dan Berardi went 3-for-5 with a homerun and three RBI's for the Gothic Knights who improve to 13-6 overall. Sophomore
John Tierney (West Milford, N.J. / West Milford) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored for the Cyclones who fall to 11-9 overall.
Centenary took a 2-0 lead in the first as junior
Nick Daniele (Colts Neck, N.J. / Red Bank Catholic) hit an RBI double to score senior
Nick Koffel (Perkiomenville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley) and Tierney. The Cyclones didn't hold the lead for long as NJCU evened the contest at 2-2 in the top of second.
The Gothic Knights increased their lead to 6-2 in the third with four runs on six hits. Centenary cut the deficit to 6-4 in the bottom of the third, as sophomores
Glenn Allen (Cresskill, N.J. / Cresskill) and
Sean Donovan (Howell, N.J. / Howell) recorded RBI's.
After Berardi homered in the top of the seventh, the Cyclones cut the deficit to 8-7 in the bottom half of the inning with freshman
Chase Koffel (Perkiomenville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley) scoring on a wild pitch and Brown hitting a two RBI double to score Daniele and Tierney.
NJCU scored an insurance run in the eighth and was led by Corey Nase who went 2.1 innings and recorded his third save of the season.
Daniele went 1-for-3 with two RBI's and two walks, while Donovan went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Anthony Keri improve to 2-0, while sophomore
James Graziani (Martinsville, NJ / Bridgewater - Raritan) falls to 2-4.

Scott Kushner and the Cyclones will return to action in Allamuchy, N.J. on Monday, Apr. 11 against the Lightning of Lehman College at 3:00 p.m.
