BRYN ATHYN, Pa. (Mar. 21, 2016) - Powered by nine goals in the first half, the Centenary College women's lacrosse team posted a non-conference victory over Bryn Athyn, 13-8.
Senior
Kristen Rabenstein (Spring Grove, Pa. / Spring Grove) and junior
Abby Voelkner (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) both scored four goals apiece for the Cyclones who improve 2-4 overall. Sabrina Coolridge and Emma Gross both scored three goals apiece for the Lions who fall to 1-1 overall.
Centenary held the lead for the entire game, despite Bryn Athyn tying the contest up twice in the first 17 minutes. Senior
Carlie Schmitt (Stewartstown, Pa. / Kennard-Dale) and Voelkner each tallied a hat-trick in the opening 30 minutes, including Voelkner netting all three goals during a six unanswered stretch that gave Centenary a 9-3 halftime advantage.
The second half belonged to Rabenstein, who recorded a hat-trick of her own as Centenary extended upon their halftime lead. After Centenary opened the half with back-to-back goals from Voelkner and Rabenstein, the Lions scored three unanswered goals and cut their deficit to 11-6 with 17:56 remaining. Rabenstein put a stop to the Bryn Athyn run with two timely goals in the final 17 minutes.

Devin Sutko (Cinnaminson, N.J. / Cinnaminson) dished out two assists. Junior
Priscilla Ortiz (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) finished with a team high five caused turnovers, while senior
Kelly Conklin (Monroe Township, N.J. / Monroe Township) finished with four groundballs. Freshman
Renee Hack (Old Bridge, N.J. / Bishop George Ahr) made 10 saves in 60 minutes of work.
