Men’s Basketball Cruises to Easy Victory over PSU-Brandywine

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Nov. 30th, 2015) – It was another dominant performance by the Centenary College men's basketball team (4-1) on Monday evening, as the Cyclones when wire-to-wire against the Nittany Lions of Penn State Brandywine, 81-52.

This was the third time in the first five games where the Cyclones beat the opposition by at least 20 points, and it was another big night for sophomore Rashaan Spencer (Hackettstown, N.J. / Mount Olive), who finished with 23 points, six rebounds and three assists in 27 minutes of action.

Senior Anthony Bailey (Florida, N.Y. / SS Seward) recorded 14 points himself, while adding six rebounds in 25 minutes to round out the Cyclones double-digit scorers. The reason for that was Head Coach Tim Fusina's ability to use his bench with the big point disparity, as every Cyclone player saw action on the floor tonight.

Centenary shot 46% from the field compared to 30% for Penn State. The Cyclones also went 41.4% from the arc, where Penn State only managed to shoot 26.9%. That, along with Centenary almost doubling Penn State in the paint at a 34-18 point disparity was a big difference in the victory.

Junior Justen Davis (Edison, N.J. / Wardlaw-Hartridge) played solid minutes finishing with six points and four rebounds, while freshman Jake Logue (Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) totaled five points, two rebounds and two huge blocks.

Fusina and the Cyclones will square off with the Pacers of Marywood University on Wednesday, Dec. 2nd at 8pm.
