Hackettstown, NJ – The Centenary College women's soccer team is ready to face #1 seed Cabrini College in the Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship. The game will be held in Radnor, PA with a kickoff start time of 3pm on Saturday November 8th.
No. 2 Centenary made its way into the finals by defeating third-seeded Gwynedd Mercy University 4-0 in the CSAC semifinals on November 5
th, 2014.
After dropping back-to-back conference games in early October, the Cyclones have matched their longest win streak of seven games for the third time in school history. The last time Centenary stood behind such a streak was in their 2010 season where they were crowned CSAC Champs.
Centenary enters tomorrow's match with an overall record of (11-7-1, 9-2 CSAC), while Cabrini stands at 13-6 overall and a perfect 11-0 in league play.
The Cyclones visited the Cavaliers October 7
th in the regular season where Cabrini rallied to edge the Cyclones 2-1. Senior forward,
Samantha Sysak opened the scoring in the 19
th minute when she netted a goal off a corner kick feed by
Lorraine Dedrick.
Cabrini would answer back within four minutes as Lissette Hrapmann scored an unassisted goal on a long shot to even up the game 1-1. The Cavaliers would control the offense throughout the rest of the game, holding Centenary to only six shots and one on target.
It was a tight defensive game and it wasn't until the 81
st minute, where Cabrini took a 2-1 lead after Dana Peterson netted a cross for what would be the game-winning goal.
This marked Centenary's last loss this season and look to leave everything out on the field as they are in the hunt to reclaim the CSAC crown.
