Cyclones Set to Face No. 1 Seed Neumann University

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The fifth-seeded Centenary College men's soccer team will travel to Aston, PA for a Colonial States Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal match against the #1 seed, Neumann University.

Centenary (12-6-1, 5-4 CSAC) enters tomorrow's match having won a quarterfinal game against Gwynedd Mercy University last night to advance.  The Cyclones will make their third appearance in the semifinal round as they face Neumann University.

Thursday's match will be a tough one for the Cyclones as the Knights went undefeated in conference play (9-0).

The last time these two teams met, Centenary suffered a tough 2-1 loss October 28th, 2014 on the road.  Centenary found themselves down one after a late first half goal and throughout the majority of the second half.

It wasn't until the 84th minute, that Kevin Brix sent the equalizer into the back of the net to knot the game at one apiece.  However, 11 seconds later, Neumann would regain the lead as Christian Cortese headed a goal off a corner kick.

Since the loss, Centenary bounced back to defeat Rosemont College (2-1) to close out their regular season and Gwynedd Mercy (3-2 OT) in last night's quarterfinals match. The Cyclones are prepared to face their toughest opponent tomorrow night while they look to put a "W" in the win column and advance to the CSAC Finals.

The other semifinal match features regular-season No. 2 Marywood University hosting No. 3 Cabrini College on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
