Thiessen turned in a career performance to lead the field hockey team to a 7-2 win at Wells in their only contest of the week. She had four goals and two assists for 10 points against the Express. Both the goals and points were not only career-highs for Thiessen but also were program single-game records for the Cyclones.

Thiessen's hat trick was the first of her career. She scored one of her goals on a penalty stroke and was credited with a game-winning goal in the contest.
