Gonzalez tossed the first complete game shutout of her career to help the Cyclones beat Notre Dame in game one Saturday. She went six strong innings and allowed just five hits. Gonzalez allowed just two base runners to reach third the entire game. She matched her career-high with five strikeouts in the contest and did not walk a batter. Gonzalez also doubled and scored in the game.
